Are you looking for a way to give back to your community, look no further. The Byrum Woods community is constantly looking for neighbors to help out. We all live here and benefit from the benefits of all of the kind volunteers. Please fill out the form below if you are interested in volunteering. No position is a life-long commitment, and the move volunteers we have the better.

Luminary Committee

The Luminary Committee is responsible for the annual luminary display. They purchase (reimbursed by the HOA) the supplies, assemble the luminary supplies for each house, and then distribute the supplies. The expected commitment for this committee is two meetings per year, and one work day. These activities occur in the Fall and in early December.

Landscaping Committee

The Landscaping Committee is responsible for the care and maintenance of the Byrum Wood entrances. They coordinate and arrange for professional landscaping services to maintain the entrances, conduct routine maintenance, place decorations as necessary, and inform the Board if there are other issues that need to be addressed. No green thumb necessary.

Welcoming Committee

The Welcoming Committee is responsible for formally welcoming our new neighbors into the community. They provide a welcome gift, provide information on the Home Owners Association, and answer general questions. Generally, we get only a handful of new neighbors a year, so there isn’t much of a time commitment.

Utilities Committee

The Utilities Committee is responsible for engaging the the local utilities (water, power, roads) on behalf of the community. This may mean contacting Duke regarding fixing lights, checking with Wake County on road improvements, or check with Aqua on water issues. Depending on the issue, this may take people with some patience and willingness to make repeated phone calls.
